Our Industry pioneer & CEO Sid Meltzner
- Sid Meltzner, the CEO of Condor has been in the Gyro business since 1955.
- Condor recently observed its 50th anniversary _
- Designed 1 ¾ and 2” Mass Spinning Rate Gyroscopes between 1955 and 1985.
- In 1983 opened Condor Pacific Limited in Israel
- In mid to late 1980’s designed the 1 ¼ Rate Gyro used on Sikorsky Blackhawk, Seahawk, S76, and the Apache helicopter
- Built a strong R & D group
- Over next 20 years 2 new products were designed: Tuned Gyro and Multisensor Gyro
- In 1998 CPI qualified its own designed gyro for the F-16 aircraft. Over 2000 delivered to the USAF.
- In 1999 acquired the Allied Signal Gyro division in Cheshire, CT. This included the complete Bendix Allied Signal & Northrop F16 gyro lines, manufactured in Cheshire CT. & Norwood MA. As a result of the acquisition of the Northrop division product line, Condor had 2 distinct gyro Quad packages on the F-16 aircraft. Not wanting to compete against itself, it made the decision to stop manufacturing the CPI version.
- In 2003 sold 3 of the 4 divisions to BAE Systems
- In 2007 when his non compete agreement expired, Sid started his present company, Condor Pacific Industries, Inc.
- Our current capabilities are: Mechanical Rate Gyros, Tuned Gyros, & MEMS Rate Gyro Assemblies
